Hey! My name is Renee Therrien and I am a traditional and Harmony trained FX and character animator. Born and raised in Ottawa Ontario. I graduated Algonquin College's Animation program in 2019, and have worked at Mercury Filmworks ever since.

   My journey at Mercury Filmworks started as a character animator for the award winning show, Hilda (season 2), and progressed into FX animation, where I found my passion for traditional animation techniques. In the FX department, I have worked on many different projects, starting with Netflix's Centaur World (seasons 1 and 2), and on to AppleTV shows Interrupting Chicken and Strange Planet. After the completion of these two wonderful productions, I went on to do FX for season 3 of Hilda, and have briefly helped the character animation team for The Ghost and Molly McGee for their second season. I then finished my time at Mercury working on The Ghost and Molly McGee FX team, before taking a short term freelance contract at Big Jump on a feature film production. Since then, I have been working on freelance contracts for youtube projects.

   Thanks to this, I am therefore comfortable in both departments and easily adaptable and flexible to take on whatever challenges come my way. I also have a strong knowledge of the animation pipeline as I have explored multiple departments.

   Aside from drawing and animating, my hobbies include crochet, playing video games, and spending time with my family and friends at the cottage.
